Short-Term Team Assistant for the World Bank Chad Country Office Background and Country Context : The World Bank Group (WBG) Chad Country Office supports delivery of the WBG program in Chad. The Office is hiring a part-time Team Assistant on a short-term contract to provide operational and administrative support to the Country Office and Global Practice teams as needed throughout the year. Objective Provide high-quality operational, administrative, information management, client service, and logistics support to the Country Office and task teams, ensuring timely processing of documents, accurate data management, effective coordination, and smooth execution of events and mission logistics. Scope of Work and Responsibilities Operational and Administrative Support: • Draft, proofread, and format correspondence and meeting minutes, ensuring compliance with WBG standards and templates. • Prepare, edit, and finalize administrative documents, reports, and presentations using Microsoft Office. • Maintain organized project files (paper/electronic); retrieve and compile information for TTLs, the Country Manager, and the CMU; keep contact and distribution lists current and manage document circulation. • Coordinate with service units and team members; support planning and logistics for missions and events (conferences, workshops, negotiations, Board presentations, signing ceremonies). • Provide back-up support to staff and Task Team Assistants, and perform other duties as assigned, consistent with the role. Selection Criteria: • Education and experience: Bachelor’s degree plus at least 3 years of relevant experience in an international organization, NGO, or private sector. • Technical proficiency: Advanced skills in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook); familiarity with smartphones and AI-enabled tools. • Institutional and administrative know-how: Knowledge of records management, and the ability to execute diverse administrative procedures and produce timely outputs. • Communication and languages: Strong English and French (spoken and written); ability to draft and edit routine correspondence in both languages with accurate grammar and style. • Behavior, work style and competencies: Strong interpersonal skills and professionalism in a multicultural environment Demonstrated initiative, organization, problem solving, client orientation, collaboration and inclusion; ability to manage multiple tasks independently, meet deadlines, and take ownership of results. Engagement Modality and Level of Effort This will be a Short-Term Consultant (STC) engagement on a time-based, part-time, as-needed basis across the year. The estimated level of effort is approximately 60 days per fiscal year, to be agreed with the Country Manager and subject to business needs and budget availability. The work schedule may vary week-to-week depending on workload and priorities. The anticipated start date is February 15, 2026. The initial contract period will be 30 days, renewable based on performance, business needs, and budget. Occasional travel within Chad may be requested, subject to approval. Eligibility This position, which is based locally, is available to individuals who are currently living in Chad or planning to move there, as long as they have legal authorization to reside and work in the country.
