Read more about this company Safety Officer Job Type Full Time Qualification BA/BSc/HND Experience 3 - 5 years Location Enugu Job Field Safety and Environment / HSE   Job Description Responsible to ensure relevant SHE resources and personnel are deployed to provide day-to-day support to departmental requirements. Coordinating SHE activities, within the area of responsibility and report as required to the SHE manager, performance, incidents and accidents and progress against sectional and factory targets. Responsibilities Assist Safety Manager in the coordination of SHE Management Systems in the plant, head office and external warehouses in line with the company’s acceptable standards, OHSAS 45001 and ISO 14001 EMS Assist Safety manager in working with HODs and administrative teams to identify occupational and environmental hazards and to introduce suitable controls in the offices and warehouses. Follow up on agreed control measures to ensure safe work practices. Ensure safe handling and disposal of hazardous materials across the plant, offices and external warehouses. Assist the Safety manager in the communication of all relevant Local/organizational SHE standards to employees, contractors and visitors. Identify and support in implementing SHE program at the plant, head office, warehouses and contractor management. Assist the Safety manager in coordinating hazard spotting, near-misses and report of unsafe act in the workplace. Requirements A minimum of B.Sc / HND in Engineering, Sciences/Humanities. Minimum of 3 - 5 years relevant hands-on FMCG operation and maintenance experience. Proficiency in Hausa language. Knowledge of bottling operations: Planning, Manufacturing, Quality, Environment Engineering, Health and Safety. Must Possess Basic HSE CERTIFICATION, NEBOSH will be an added advantage. Membership/registration of ISPON (Institute of Safety Professionals of Nigeria) Ability to influence situations without direct control of resources. Good understanding of HQSE modalities and codes.
