Infrastructure Engineer
Plus8soft is a global engineering company providing outstaffing and outsourcing services for fast-growing startups and established international companies. We focus on delivering high-quality engineering talent across Web, Mobile, Cloud, AI/ML, and DevOps, with a strong presence in the US and global markets. We are seeking a seasoned Senior Infrastructure / Systems Engineer to manage and optimize core infrastructure for NoIP. This is not a standard DevOps or Cloud-Native role; we require an individual who operates at the intersection of hardware and software. You will be responsible for bare-metal performance, data center virtualization, and low-level system debugging in a high-load, mission-critical environment. Responsibilities Manage Core Infrastructure: Oversee and optimize bare-metal servers and physical data center deployments. Optimize Virtualization: Maintain and tune expert-level virtualization environments using KVM or Proxmox, focusing on I/O and CPU/RAM efficiency. Low-Level Debugging: Perform deep-system troubleshooting, kernel tuning, and performance profiling to ensure 24/7 stability. Network Engineering: Handle high-load networking troubleshooting, routing protocols, and packet-level analysis. Maintain Containers: Manage Docker and container runtimes with a focus on how they interact with Linux namespaces and cgroups. System Stewardship: Prioritize stability and resource efficiency over general automation, acting as a "builder" of the foundation. Requirements Linux Internals Mastery: Deep, low-level command of Linux (kernel tuning, system calls, and internals). On-Prem Expertise: Extensive experience with bare-metal, physical hardware, and data center operations. Networking Deep-Dive: Beyond basic CIDR—strong command of routing, switching, and high-load network architectures. Virtualization Specialist: Proven experience with KVM, Proxmox, or similar "low-level" hypervisors. Container Knowledge: Solid understanding of Docker/process isolation (not just Kubernetes orchestration). High-Load Experience: Background in CDN, Hosting, or ISP infrastructure is a massive plus. English Proficiency: Good level of spoken and written English; must be able to explain complex technical stacks in depth during a strict screening process. Conditions Fully Remote: Preference for candidates in USA, LATAM, or Canada (Toronto/GMT-4 alignment). Europe-based candidates with significant overlap are welcome. No Budget Restrictions: Compensation is commensurate with elite-level expertise and paid in USD. Direct Impact: Direct collaboration with founders and a fast decision-making environment. High Ownership: This is a mission-critical role where you will have a real impact on the stability of global DNS/Infrastructure services. Elite Professional Growth: Work within an intensive environment where every word on your CV is respected and technical depth is the highest priority.
