Through collaborations with government bodies, private sectors, and civil society, the Foundation strives to uplift communities and enhance living standards across the continent. Position overview Supervised by the Senior Communications Manager, the Communications Manager is essential to boosting the Foundation’s reach, public image, and overall influence. This role involves handling daily communication tasks, producing top-tier content, and ensuring all messaging reflects the Foundation’s core objectives. We seek a candidate with exceptional writing talent, meticulous attention to detail, and a proven track record in managing multi-channel media campaigns. Key responsibilities Content creation and management • Draft, refine, and manage the output of • Partner with project teams to generate specific content showcasing the Foundation’s milestones and events. • Coordinate with the Communications Associate to maintain a vibrant and consistent presence across all social media networks. Media relations • Assist in building and sustaining partnerships with local and global media houses and journalists. • Arrange interviews, press briefings, and conferences to highlight the Foundation’s programs. • Track media mentions and analyze the effectiveness of press engagement. Brand management • Verify that all public-facing materials adhere to established brand standards. • Liaise with graphic designers to create compelling visual assets. • Maintain the Foundation’s website with current and precise information. Event promotion and coverage • Design and implement outreach plans for workshops, conferences, and various programs. • Supervise real-time social media reporting during live events. • Produce promotional materials and comprehensive post-event summaries. Internal communications • Improve organizational flow through internal updates and staff • Assist department heads with the preparation of internal communication documents. Monitoring and reporting • Evaluate the success of digital campaigns using data-driven engagement metrics. • Provide the Senior Communications Manager with regular updates on activity results. • Compile quarterly and annual reports to measure progress and refine future strategies. Qualifications and skills • Bachelor’s degree in Public Relations, Communications, Journalism, or a related discipline. • At least 5 years of professional experience in PR or communications, ideally within the NGO or development sector. • Outstanding writing and editing capabilities in both English and French. • Expertise in social media strategy and digital content production. • Experience with WordPress or similar CMS is an advantage. • Capacity to handle high-pressure environments and prioritize multiple tasks effectively. • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work seamlessly across different teams. • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office 365.
