We are looking for a motivated and detail-orientated hydropower site assessment analyst to support the early-stage identification, technical evaluation, and due diligence of potential hydropower sites (primarily existing dams and rivers). This is a field-orientated role ideal for someone with 3–5 years of experience who enjoys travel and hands-on technical assessment work. Min Qualification: Degree Experience Level: Mid level Experience Length: 3 years Language Requirement: English Working Hours: Full Time - 9 to 5 Applicant Location: Lagos, Nigeria Job descriptions & requirements Responsibilities: Conduct site visits and technical assessments of existing dams and river sites across Nigeria for potential brownfield retrofits or greenfield development. Collect and analyse hydrological data, flow measurements, head calculations, and site photographs. Assess the renovation and upgrade potential of existing dams (civil condition, outlet works, spillways, etc.). Support the preparation of site assessment reports, preliminary feasibility studies, and power output estimates. Assist in updating hydrological models and flow duration curves. Coordinate with local communities, River Basin Development Authorities, and government agencies during site visits. Support the Technical Lead in preparing technical documentation for investors, REA, SPIN, and NERC applications. Contribute to the evaluation of solar-hybrid opportunities where relevant (solar knowledge is a plus). Maintain a database of assessed sites with technical findings and recommendations. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, civil engineering, or a related field. 3–5 years of relevant experience in renewable energy project development, site assessment, or hydropower/dam evaluation. Willingness and ability to travel extensively across Nigeria (fieldwork will be a major part of the role). Basic knowledge of hydropower principles, hydrology, and site assessment methodologies. Experience with solar PV systems is a strong advantage but not mandatory. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel) and basic engineering software (AutoCAD, GIS, or RETScreen is a plus). Strong report writing, communication, and interpersonal skills. Willingness to work in remote locations.
