Technical Maintenance Supervisor – Permanent Role in Paarl (Western Cape)

We are currently seeking an experienced and highly motivated Technical Maintenance Supervisor to join a dynamic team based in Paarl, Western Cape. This is a key leadership position within the organization, responsible for overseeing all technical maintenance operations, ensuring maximum equipment uptime, and driving a culture of safety and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities of the Technical Maintenance Supervisor

• Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of the maintenance team, including technicians and artisans.
• Plan, schedule, and execute preventive and corrective maintenance on all production and facility equipment.
• Manage spare parts inventory and ensure critical spares are always available.
• Conduct regular inspections to identify potential issues and implement proactive solutions.
• Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations (OHS Act).
• Monitor maintenance budgets and drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
• Prepare detailed maintenance reports and performance metrics for management review.
• Lead troubleshooting efforts for complex mechanical, electrical, and automation breakdowns.
• Train, mentor, and develop the technical team to enhance their skills and efficiency.

Required Qualifications & Experience

• Trade test certification in a relevant engineering discipline (Mechanical, Electrical, or Mechatronics).
• Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience in a manufacturing, FMCG, or industrial environment.
• Strong knowledge of PLC systems, conveyors, hydraulics, pneumatics, and industrial automation.
• Proven ability to lead a team and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.
• Excellent problem-solving, communication, and organizational skills.
• Computer literate (MS Office, CMMS systems).
• Valid driver's license and willingness to be on standby when required.
