This individual will be responsible for designing ranges and working alongside a Design and Production team to ensure land of range in store. We are looking for a responsible, organised individual, who enjoys working in a fast paced and dynamic environment where the customer is the central focus of everything we do. The role will be to take charge of guiding all steps of the pattern design process, from initial conception to final manufacture processes across all commodities. A strong grasp of trend direction, fabrications, product relevance and branding are essential. Key Responsibilities: Create Pattern on computer using Lectra and available references Liaise with Designer on requirements Communicate with Sample Room on requirements Measure Garments Grading Attend Fit Sessions with Designer Liaise with retail Technologist Handle queries from factories Qualifications and Experience: Tertiary qualification in Fashion Design/Pattern Design equivalent Has proven competency in Pattern Making (3-5 years) For this position experience on the Lectra windows system would be advantageous Skills: Has good interpersonal and communication skills Has a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail Has good planning and organising skills and be able to prioritise Is reliable and hard working Is able to work under pressure to meet regular deadlines Enjoys working in a team Behaviours: Communicates Effectively - conveys information and communicates ideas in a clear, concise and impactful manner Ensures Accountability - takes accountability and ensures others are held to account on agreed upon performance targets Manages Complexity - interprets and simplifies complex and contradictory information when resolving organisational problems Plans and Aligns - develops plans and prioritises initiatives that align to the organisational goals and objectives Preference will be given, but not limited to candidates from designated groups in terms of the Employment Equity Act.
