Role Overview The Maintenance Reliability & Planning Principal is a key leadership role responsible for enhancing equipment reliability, optimizing maintenance strategies, and ensuring effective planning and scheduling of all maintenance activities at the Syama mine site. This role is critical in supporting the Maintenance Departmentâs goal of delivering cost-effective, safe, and reliable equipment performance, ensuring operational efficiency across the site. Key Responsibilities Compliance-&-Safety: Ensure that all maintenance activities comply with relevant safety standards, environmental regulations, and company policies. Promote a culture of safety within the Maintenance Department. Promote positive safety environment and comply to ISO standard. Reliability-Engineering: Develop, implement, and manage reliability-centered maintenance (RCM) strategies, tools, and processes to maximize equipment uptime, reduce unplanned downtime, and extend equipment life cycles. Maintenance Planning: (1) Routine (2) shutdown (3) Heavy Equipment planning Lead the maintenance planning team in preparing comprehensive maintenance schedules, ensuring all planned activities are properly scoped, resourced, and aligned with production requirements. Collaborate closely with Operations and Supply Chain to ensure timely execution. Maintenance Planning KPI: To evaluate and assess the Maintenance key performance indicators in a weekly basis. Ensure the performance of each maintenance organization are track and oversee the downfalls. Key goal to ensure good planning with good performance. No backlogs behind. All PMâs is accomplished. Condition-Monitoring: Oversee condition monitoring and predictive maintenance programs (vibration analysis, thermography, oil analysis, Non-destructive test, RDI advance etc.), leveraging data-driven insights to predict potential failures and recommend preventive measures. Root Cause Analysis Expertise: Drive the team in best practice to an effective root cause analysis (RCA). Ensuring all the equipment failure has been investigated and address the lesson learnt from it. A systematic review and actions completion should be implemented to prevent the re-occurrence of the event. Continuous-Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives within the maintenance function by identifying opportunities for improvement in maintenance practices, workflows, and equipment reliability. Lead failure mode effect analysis (FMEA) for critical equipment. Budgeting-&-Cost-Control: Assist in the preparation and management of the maintenance budget, tracking expenditures, and identifying cost-saving opportunities without compromising on quality or safety. Training-&-Development: Provide leadership, coaching, and development to the Maintenance Planning and Reliability team. Ensure staff have the necessary skills, tools, and training to deliver high-quality work. Vendor-&-Contractor-Management: Manage relationships with external contractors and vendors to ensure maintenance support services are delivered according to agreed timelines and standards. Cost Savings Initiatives Participate the Business Improvement group to propose new potential ideas regarding cost savings initiatives. Ensure to align and complete all ideas into implementation. Production Loss Accounting Drive the implementation of the Optimum software. The downtime loss accounting requires a journey of training both operation and maintenance team. Ensure the data captured is in advance tooling and automatic reporting system. Hydrocarbon Management Drive the In-house Laboratory for Oil analysis sampling and testing. Manage all the oil samples to be tested with the correct procedure and review all the test result prior for releasing to the execution. Ensure Spectro Oil software is well maintained and utilised by trained operators onsite. Second-in-Charge with the Maintenance Manager. The role is back-to-back with the Maintenance Manager role while on He/she on rotation roster. Ensure all high-level meetings are attended and comply to General Manager requested priorities. Manage the fixed plant maintenance overall execution and day to day critical activities and high priorities. Ensure the team are focus on the task and achieve the daily production target and high availability performance of equipment. Key Qualifications & Experience Bachelorâs degree in mechanical, Electrical, Civil or Industrial Engineering (or related field).
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in maintenance, reliability engineering, and planning within the mining or heavy industrial sector.
- Proven track record of implementing reliability programs (e.g., RCM, FMEA, OPTIMUM downtime loss accounting, SPECTRO,) and maintenance optimization.
- Proficient in Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS), such as IFS, SAP, - PM or Maximo.
- Strong knowledge of condition monitoring technologies and predictive maintenance.
- Demonstrated leadership and team management experience.

- Ability to work in a multicultural environment and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams. Desirable Skills
- Experience in working in remote or challenging environments, ideally in West Africa.
- Advanced certifications in Maintenance & Reliability (e.g., CMRP, CRE).
- Conference certification related to Asset maintenance in mining.
- Fluency in French is a strong advantage. Key Competencies
