Regional Legal Counsel (Locally Recruited)

CIMMYT is seeking a Regional Legal Counsel to develop and manage strategic legal plans while overseeing legal cases and contracts in the Asian Region. The role involves providing legal advice across various jurisdictions, supporting compliance efforts, and ensuring adherence to legal and regulatory requirements. The candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement policies and procedures, manage legal risks, and deliver effective legal services. Specific duties include: Execute and coordinate end-to-end Contract Life Cycle Management; Provide timely, practical, and business-oriented legal advice across multiple jurisdictions; Support Compliance Officer by managing and executing all aspects of case management; Provide proactive legal support and day-to-day advisory services; Participate in implementation and monitoring of CIMMYT’s compliance program; Act as legal focal point between Region and Headquarters; Research and analyze treaties, laws, regulations; Ensure CIMMYT remains compliant with legal and regulatory requirements; Collaborate with cross-functional teams; Identify and assess legal risks.
