The Test Facilities and Laboratories Section manages the facilities of the ESA/ESTEC Test Centre (test facilities and test methods development and modification) and provides expertise on environmental testing. In addition, technological research and development activities in the above engineering fields are also carried out in the Section Duties You will report to the Head of the Test Facilities and Laboratories Section and to the Head of the TEC Test Facilities and Infrastructure Office and will contribute to the efficient management and evolution of the test facilities in the Space Test Centre. Your main duties will include: planning, developing and implementing new test facilities to support the evolution of space test requirements; planning, developing and implementing upgrades to existing facilities to improve performance and productivity; coordinating and supervising the installation, assembly and acceptance activities conducted in the test facilities; improving existing test methods and developing new ones with respect to technical performance, productivity, reliability and measurement quality; assessing existing test facility operations with respect to safety, cost effectiveness and performance, and assessing customer requirements to recommend modifications for upgrading and replacing hardware and/or software; supervising and supporting the maintenance, calibration and repair activities performed by the Test Centre contractors; supporting the other sections of the TEC Test Facilities and Infrastructure Office as required; supporting ESA projects for testing related activities and assessments as required.
